State of Montana Civil Engineering Technician #91988 -Glasgow in Glasgow, Montana
Montana Department of Transportation is currently recruiting for Civil Engineering Technician in Glasgow. This position serves as a Field Project Technician within the District and is responsible for coordinating and conducting various inspection, sampling, and testing procedures to verify that construction project features and materials conform with standard specifications, Department requirements, and contract agreements. Varied Shifts - Typically 40-hour work weeks will be offered. Overtime may be available. This position involves travel as the majority of the work is performed at construction sites.
The required knowledge and skills are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, including coursework in algebra, geometry, or trigonometry. Experience in highway and/or bridge field construction is preferred but not required.

Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to carrying equipment and samples over rough terrain, climbing, and bending. Extensive overnight travel throughout the District in excess of 2,000 miles per month and working outdoors in all types of weather.
A valid Montana Driver's License is required. Driver's record will be verified. Successful applicants will be required to sign a release form which authorizes the Department to obtain the applicant's permanent driving records. Compliance with Mont. Admin. R. 2.6.201, "State Vehicle Use," and MDT Policy # 6.03.001, "Addendum to Risk Management and Tort Defense Division State Vehicle Use
