AEM - HEAD START Classroom Aide in GLASGOW, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have CDA, or, be able to obtain a CDA within two years of employment
- Knowledge of the basics of working with preschool children
- Knowledge of the purpose of the Head Start Program
- Ability to relate well to, and coordinate and communicate effectively with staff members and with children/families of low income and varied backgrounds
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, stoop, sit on floor and other activities as they pertain to working with preschool aged children
- Have means of transportation and freedom to travel as required by job duties and/or training
- PPD (TB sub-Dural tine test), or, acquire upon hire
- First aide and CPR training, or, acquire same upon hire.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Assist the Center Based Teacher and Assistant Teacher to maintain a safe, healthy and attractive learning environment for all of the children
Assist children in such physical tasks as putting on and taking off outerwear, movement, lavatory use, eating and other appropriate tasks
Provide physical and emotional help and guidance for special needs children, as well as being accessible to all of the children
Part-time, seasonal position, working 25 hours per week. Will work 5 hours per day, Monday - Friday, on days school is in session, August - May.
$13.02 per hour and up, depending on experience. Benefits include: employer paid insurance (preferred provider - 90/10, non-preferred provider - 80/20, $500 deductible); sick and vacation leave; 401K.
