Agronomy Sales Intern- MT
Position Summary:
The Agronomy Sales Internship is anopportunity to build your sales and business development skills within the retail agricultureindustry. Throughout the summer, interns will be assigned key projects and withthesales and product trainingprovided,interns areresponsible forconductingplant micronutrient testing, executing product trials, andanalyzing results with experienced agronomists.Interns willbe activeidentifying weeds, diseases, and insects affect crop yields - andwill take it a step further byconductingsales calls with customers to discuss crop management recommendations.
Internships are offered in a variety of locations through our member cooperatives, retailers, and independent owner system. Interns will be provided training throughWinFieldUnited and the working location is dependent on those of our member owners.
Location: Glendive, MT
Position Duration:May August(start and end dates flexible)
Position Duties:
Inspect assigned grower fields to identify weeds, insects,diseases, pest and crop population counts, crop and weed staging and other crop diagnostic issues.
Utilize crop scouting software/weekly reports to document and share observations with partnered field agronomist.
Keep current on agronomic products, trends, and precision agriculturetechnologies.
Provide support for operations and warehouse staff as needed.
Responsible forshadowingsalescalls throughout assigned territories to determine agronomy needs,learn how tocreate solutions and build long term relationships with customers that will generate sales of seed, fertilizer, agriculturechemicals and agronomy services.
Assist with planning oftest plotsfor demonstrations ofimprovedcropvarietiesandto use as an additionalsales tool.
PositionCompetencies &Qualifications:
Completed a previous crop scout internship or relevant experience preferred.
Pursuing an associates or bachelors degree in an agriculture related major or program.
Frequently move, lift and carry boxes, tubs, and tools weighing 50-60 lbs., access and utilize farm equipment, and move or traverse on uneven ground.
Ability to work extended hours during peak busy seasons.
Possess a valid, unrestricted drivers license and have and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
