Glendive Medical Center Environmental Services Tech in Glendive, Montana

Glendive Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Tech to provide services at Glendive Medical Center. Environmental Services Technician is responsible for the cleanliness throughout the facility in patient rooms, resident's rooms, waiting rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices in administrative areas, as well as GMC owned apartments off campus when assigned. Performs frequent disinfecting of high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of infections. Maintains daily cleaning of floors in their assigned areas. Using the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) that meets hospital standards, performs garbage and bio-hazard pickup and disposal in a precise way to ensure the safety, health and morale of patients, visitors and employees by providing a clean, attractive, safe environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

    Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies.

  • Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned areas.

  • Cleans all furniture in assigned areas, following established procedures for housekeeping standards and infection control.

  • Replenishes supplies.

  • Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.

  • Clean and disinfects patient rooms.

  • Cleans and disinfects kitchen and dining areas.

  • Cleans offices and conference rooms.

  • Cleans and polishes stainless steel, glass panels in doors/windows and cleans window screens.

  • Cleans walls, windowsills, mini-blinds, and divider curtains.

  • Cleans and frequently disinfecting of high-touch surfaces.

  • Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, and carpets.

  • Places and neatly tucks clean sheets and blankets on beds and replaces pillowcases.

  • Empties trash baskets, cleans trash baskets, and replaces plastic liners in assigned area.

  • Clean GMC owned apartments.

  • Attends mandatory in-services and/or meetings.

  • Completes basic record keeping regarding areas worked and work performed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.

  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests.

  • Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.

    Education and Experience:

  • High School or equivalent is preferred. Must have good reading and writing skills.

  • Experience is preferred. On the job training is provided.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
