WEST GLENDIVE PUBLIC WORKS/CEMETERY Field Operator I in GLENDIVE, Montana
ABOUT THE POSITION / DEPARTMENT: Performs field and maintenance operations for the Public Works and Cemetery Departments as directed. Will be responsible for a wide variety of infrastructure projects and maintenance, vehicle and building maintenance and solid waste.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Montana driver\'s license, and other endorsements as mandated by law and/or policy. Two (2) years\' experience in computers, biology and engineering and wastewater/water treatment is preferred. Significant related coursework or graduation from an accredited college or university with a related degree is desired.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform mapping, enter information in computer logs, monitor weather conditions that could produce flooding
- Disconnect water systems on vacated houses and delinquent users, issue and review permits
- Maintain 24-hour emergency status, aid in emergencies, work scheduled overtime as needed
- Maintain lift station, clear line blockage, inspect and repair systems and related mechanisms, maintain hydrants, read meters, take water and chlorinate samples and readings on wells and reverse osmosis system, maintain levees and diversion channel, flush lines
- Provide guidance to seasonal employees
- Conduct seasonal maintenance of pumps and equipment, perform routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and machinery
HOURS/DAYS: Full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Must work scheduled overtime as needed.
PAY/BENEFITS: Pay is \$21.12 per hour. Excellent benefit package.
