Glendive Medical Center Imaging Manager in Glendive, Montana

The Imaging Manager will plan, administer, and direct operations of the Imaging department programs as well as supervising and coordinating Imaging staff with their daily activities. Ensures assignments are completed and maintains quality patient care.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.

  • Supervises personnel through performance management, qualified staff selection and training, and effective communication.

  • Overseas the daily workflow of the departments.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and nurtures cooperative inter-departmental relationships and communications of a broad scope throughout the organization and with individuals external to the organization.

  • Promotes Imaging department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.

  • Leads the activities of assigned Imaging team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.

  • Prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and monitors work to optimize operational performance; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.

  • Effectively develops and implements department policies and procedures. Ensures that they are consistent with medical center policies.

  • Effectively participates in Quality/Performance Improvement (QI/PI) programs. Bases QI/PI plan decisions on trends and needs and seeks staff input. Ensures that appropriate tools are in place to achieve QI/PI goals.

  • Ensures that staff are familiar with the organization and department safety plans and executes all job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Participates in the formation of the annual budget and monitors compliance on an ongoing basis.

  • Participates in the evaluation of new equipment for prospective purchase.

  • Participates in hiring, evaluation, and discipline of employees.

  • Serves on committees/task forces as required.

  • Consults with Imaging Medical Director to institute new procedures.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • RequiMust possess the knowledge of diagnostic exams and understand the principals involved.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Thorough understanding of health and safety laws, especially in relation to Radiation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated organizational ability.

  • BLS

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology program.

  • Required Licenses/Certifications: MT State licensure, Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.

  • Minimum of two years prior related work experience in healthcare setting with supervisory/management experience to include management of personnel, budgets, capital, and physician relations.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
