DAWSON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT Public Health Nurse / Sub School Nurse in GLENDIVE, Montana

Public Health Nurse / Substitute School Nurse QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: *Associate or Bachelor degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing *Coursework or experience in Public Health Registered nurse and licensed in the State of Montana *Knowledge of medical issues related to human development, growth and immunizations *Skills in injection techniques and operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment *Ability to maintain confidentiality *Ability to exercise good judgment and follow established procedures *Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Montana driver's license DUTIES INCLUDE: *Administer immunization program *Requisition supplies including vaccines *Maintain emergency protocols *Collect medical histories *Conduct tests *Conduct lab work *Create charts and maintain files *Monitor supplies and records *Administer injections *Perform screenings and exams *Provide lab tests *Substitute at the schools for the School Nurse during the Immunization Clinic and whenever needed *Assist in Home Visiting Med Set-ups *Assist in Family Planning Nursing *Rapidly assess and determine appropriate actions under emergency situations *Coordinate Communicable Disease Surveillance Systems and Response *Conduct timely investigations with people with confirmed or suspected communicable diseases such as STIs and COVID-19 *Manage patient panels of those with confirmed or suspected diseases under investigation using established protocols including ongoing interviews and patient follow up *Tracking of relationships/ contacts, case management and documentation *Read and understand complex laws, regulations and contracts Full-time position, working Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. $21.44 per hour; benefits include health insurance, life insurance, sick leave, vacation leave, paid holidays and Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) with matching contribution.
