POSITION TITLE: Christmas Kettle Driver

UNIT: Great Falls

REPORTS TO: Corps Officers / Kettle Coordinator

STATUS: Seasonal: Full-time, Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: Deliver kettle stands, drive bell ringers to and from their scheduled locations daily. Perform other seasonal duties as assigned by Commanding Officers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license.

  • Pass a criminal background check

  • Pass The Salvation Army drivers training program

  • Lift 30 pounds.

  • Handle confidential information appropriately as required by The Salvation Army and applicable federal and state laws

  • Employ a positive and professional demeanor when relating to employees, clients, staff, agency representatives, community members and others.

  • Must be able to work Monday through Saturday.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Work with the Commanding Officer in the formation of the daily schedules as needed.

  • Look over daily kettle schedules as given by the Commanding Officer. Gather all supplies needed for paid and volunteer kettle workers at the different locations (buckets, bells, aprons, time cards, etc.).

  • Drive route daily delivering bell ringers or meeting bell ringers at their assigned location.

  • Remind bell ringers each day of their responsibility to have appropriate behavior while ringing, stay at assigned location, work together with other kettle workers to take breaks and lunch .

  • At the end of each shift, pick up the kettle and worker (if needed). Make sure kettle stand is in the assigned location for the night.

  • Report any issues immediately to Commanding Officer

  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Commanding Officer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

  • Ability to grasp, push and pull objects and reach overhead

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to understand, use and respond to written information

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle

  • Ability to follow directions to locations
