Job Summary: The Life Enrichment Guide plans and leads activities and events for residents in skilled nursing facilities. They assist residents to and from the activities and events and during the event in such a manner that the resident is engaged to the fullest extent they desire. They work one-on-one with residents and their families to complete Life Enrichment assessments to plan for and provide the highest practicable level of psychosocial well-being – especially as it relates to social and recreational needs. The Guide demonstrates resident worth by respecting and elevating the dignity of each resident and encouraging their functioning at the highest level possible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and lead recreational and social activities and events that assist the resident in achieving the highest practical level of psychosocial well-being. Create diverse opportunities for meaningful pursuits, daily pleasures, recreation, exercise, friendships, social interaction, growth and learning, fun and enjoyment, personal routines and neighborhood rituals Provide and document cares and services to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and professional standards.. Maintain Life Enrichment supplies and resources. Encourage concept of ‘home’ for Resident, family, and staff and assure resident rights, dignity and privacy are honored and met. Lead resident meetings with residents, families and staff. Provide transportation either by driving a wheelchair-accessible van, pushing a wheelchair, or simply accompanying a resident needing walking assistance at all times ensuring resident safety. Support and provide the “Benefis Promise” and the principles of resident-centered care in performing daily duties. Other duties as assigned. Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Must have CNA Certification in the state of MT
Must have a valid Drivers License
High School diploma or equivalent, required.
3 to 5 years experience as an Activities Aide or Social Services Designee in Long Term Care, preferred.
