If you're ready to roll up your sleeves, treat the business as if it is your own and add value accordingly, come see why we're Calumet Proud!PURPOSE:The Rotating Equipment Mechanic Supervisor reports directly to the Refinery's Maintenance Manager and provides the necessary support to accomplish the refinery's maintenance objectives for rotating equipment. This role is responsible to direct, supervise, and assign work to maintenance craft personnel. This role requires technical and field experience for installing, maintaining, and repairing rotating equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the ability to work hands on with stakeholders including maintenance, operations, technical, and management personnel. The successful candidate will also be able to evaluate and prioritize issues systematically, to develop equipment and maintenance process improvements within the site.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Champions maintenance efforts for rotating equipment and demonstrates Calumet Values.- Works safely each day and holds team accountable to Calumet, regulatory and site procedures.- Utilizes equipment and site data to develop equipment specific reliability and maintenance Plans.- Assists in formulating, implementing, maintaining and auditing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Diagnostics Maintenance (PdM) programs and make recommendations for reliability improvement and failure avoidance.- Assists Operations, and Maintenance Department in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters.- Develops and updates Mechanic work schedule. Ensures adequate coverage for anticipated workload.- Assigns work to mechanics, to produce safe, quality, and timely work product results- Conducts problem solving and root cause analysis for recurring equipment issues.- Coordinates with internal customers and stakeholders to resolve equipment issues.- Participate in audits to measure the effectiveness of maintenance related activities such as equipment repairs, part quality and failure investigation process.- Oversees unit outage scope related to rotating equipment during shutdowns and TA's- Requests training and resources to support mechanic continuing education and learning.- Assists in spare parts review for ensuring equipment maintainability and availability.- Develop cost justification for reliability improvements.- Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment.- Works to improve maintenance systems and methods utilized to plan and execute site maintenance.- Other activities as assigned by the Calumet management team.* REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:- Minimum of 10 years' experience directly working in rotating equipment field, Refining / Chemical, or related Industrial field and strong exposure to rotating equipment principles and practices- Experience supervising rotating equipment maintenance activities within a chemical plant or refinery.- Working knowledge of function and design/operation of plant rotating and fixed equipment, process and products; methods development and procedures; repair maintenance of rotating equipment.- Experience in root cause analysis, strong troubleshooting capability and failure investigation and analyses, developing corrective action plans and tracking all rotating equipment KPI's.- Experience with Bentley-Nevada equipment monitoring, and vibrational analysis is a plus- Working knowledge of API codes for rotating equipment- Experience in machine design, operation, and maintenance- Contacts and resources within the rotating equipment Maintenance community- Knowledge of CMMS and maintenance workflows and data- Proven safety experience/training and leadership regarding oil and gas operations including but not limited to: confined space, lock out tag out, hot work, safe work permits, personal protective equipment, and other critical safety procedures.- Must possess skills in PC Workstation, Windows, and JD Edwards and SAP knowledge is a plus.- Must process excellent troubleshooting skills and problem solving skills- Flexible and willing to support off-shift call-in support, must be available to work extra hours as needed and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed.COMPETENCIES:- Ability to multitask and manage conflicting and changing priorities- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral); problem solving and analytical skills; computer literacy; team player, self-motivated and willingness to provide field guidance- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with shop floor personnel, vendors, and management personnel- Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentation when required- Committed to safety and leads by example.- Familiarity with and drive to learn maintenance and reliability best practices and methods.- Self-Directed and motivated - Able to prioritize and work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight- *Demonstration of Calumet Values- Safety, Environment & Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Ownership, Passion for Customers, and ExcellenceSalary and benefits commensurate with experience.We are an equal opportunity employer including disability and veteran.
