WMRC MENTAL HEALTH CENTER On-call/Relief Crisis Stabilization Work in HAMILTON, Montana
Hours: Must be available often during the month for 24 hour backup. May be asked to work up to 40 hours per week, one hour to sixteen hour shifts as needed in 24 hour Crisis Residential Treatment Facility. Will be expected to cover for vacations and holidays as needed. Prefer overnight shift availability.Accountability: Reports to West House operations manager.Job Summary: Under supervision provide crisis stabilization services to individuals with mental health crises in need of 24 hour care and monitoring. Hourly with time and ? for holidays. This position requires that except in cases of emergencies, the employee will not work unsupervised until fully trained. Duties & Responsibilities: ?Implement treatment plan provided/authorized by admitted professional staff in conjunction with treating psychiatrist.?Assist in assessment and planning for services for clients admitted during shift.?Assure client safety.?Provide direct care and supportive counseling consistent with treatment plan. ?Monitor signs and symptoms.?Monitor client self-administration of medication.?Report problems with safety to supervisor.?Report problems with medications or vital signs to supervisors and/or psychiatrist.?Document consumer status and services provided.?Provide suggestions to supervise regarding treatment and discharge planning. Adhere to policies & procedures of West House as directed by supervisor or as documented in Policies & Procedures Manual, Staff Meeting Minutes and Communication Log.?Adhere to laws bearing on mental health services and consumer rights.?Adhere to Mental Health Center Code of Ethics.?Perform chores necessary to assure that the residence remains clean and orderly.?Assist clients and/or other staff with meal preparation.?Engage and interact with clients throughout shiftQualifications: Must possess the ability to make decisions independently. Ability tocommunicate information (orally and in writing) clearly, concisely and respectfully to clients,families, other professionals and agencies. Ability to establish and maintain effectiveworking relationships within the agency, with patients and family members and withinvolved personnel from other agencies and professions. Ability to exercise professionaljudgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Ability to apply effectively therequired technical knowledge. Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques andtrends in mental health crisis intervention and considerable knowledge of human behavior.Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations regarding service to persons with acute mentalillness and of the needs to problems of persons with mental illness. Knowledge of policiesand procedures of agencies providing treatment services.Education & Experience: Typically a Bachelor's degree in a human service field and experience working with SDMI individuals in a Community Mental Health Setting are preferred. Other combinations of experience and education will be considered.
