The Material Technical Advisor provides expertise in an advisory capacity to the railroad. In addition, maintaining inventory accuracy ordering, receiving, and shipping transactions. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

In addition you will:

Provide clear communication and technical guidance to railroad employees, management, Wabtec employees, including; Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting, tooling and/or locomotive status, safety procedures, material assistance, productivity and process improvements, and contract requirement clarification
Coordinate and provide instruction on key programs and procedures related to locomotive maintenance/modifications
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to create repair opportunities in the shop and to gain access to craftsman labor force
Train and monitor work activities for safe and efficient locomotive repairs
Work as part of a cross functional team, driving a "one team" focus, dedicated to customer success within the shop
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry / site specific work rules
Be responsible for all shift performance & execution, customer communications and issue resolu tion
Make risk assessments balancing customer requests with GE requirements
Work with various software systems to manage material, and other systemic requirements
Work with customers externally and internally to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes as well as design and implement progressive management processes and systems based on LEAN and Six Sigma
Be responsible for all aspects of warehousing and material management including fulfillment, transactional quality, inventory accuracy, ordering, expediting, receiving, stocking, forklift operation, distributing parts and supplies, productivity and freight forwarding
and implementing materials storage upgrades as necessary
Meet inventory targets and operational targets including month-end and quarter close processes for inventory
Manage materials fulfillment metrics including timely hardware "roll dates", kit quality and overtime/unapplied time
Meet customer schedules effectively though advanced planning and create ability to expedite shipments as required to meet deadlines

Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Services).

Wabtec provides a competitive total compensation package that includes a comprehensive employee benefits program.

Wabtec also contributes Annual and Matching contributions to your 401(k) account to help your savings grow. Each pay period, Wabtec will match 100% of your contribution up to a maximum of 3% of your eligible compensation. Wabtec also will make an Annual Contribution of 3% of your compensation, whether or not you contribute your own funds to the Savings Plan. That's a total of 6% of your annual compensation in Company-provided contributions!
