AMOS ENTERPRISES General Ranch Hand in HAVRE, Montana
Temporary full-time position from 3/15/2021 to 11/14/2021The General Ranch Hand position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of cattle and hay. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain to determine delivery time, assist in delivery and night calving; apply or administer medications/vaccines; mix feed/additives, and feed/water livestock; place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; load/unload trucks and semi-trucks; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; maintain records on animals; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck; occasionally ride and perform duties on horseback. General farm work will include making minor mechanical adjustments/repairs on farm machinery; mix chemical solutions (Roundup and Banvel) and spray/apply to crops; repair/replace fencing and farm structures; perform general cleanup of farm acreage; drive, load/unload trucks. Most duties are performed out of doors and may entail exposure to heat, cold, dust, rain, and other environmental conditions common in fields. Worker must crouch, bend, lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Minimum of 3 months experience required. Extensive pushing and pulling. Extensive walking. Frequent stooping.
