Working Title Outreach Specialist for Pathways

Brief Position Overview

MSUN will strengthen the work established by Perkins V and Perkins Reserve grants, expanding the availability of career pathways for rural students across North Central Montana and the Montana Hi-Line.

This position has the responsibility to advise area high school students seeking careers in career and technical fields into course pathways with MSUN programs. Also, this position will collaborate with area high school counselors, teacher, school officials, and administrators to develop curricula and coursework to develop course work into career and technical fields.

These partnerships will result in students’ seamless transition to programs offered by MSUN and improve the time to degree and degree completion rates for Montana students. This position will work with academic deans and the registrar to ensure the seamless transition to MSUN .

General Statement

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate on campus trainings for secondary school staff with university faculty and staff.

  2. Facilitate the development and course pathways that allow students to jump start into Career and Technical programs.

  3. Create and maintain informational resources for secondary teachers to introduce/reintroduce teachers to MSUN , facilities and programs.

  4. Strengthen relationships between MSUN faculty and Montana secondary teachers and counselors.

  5. Oversee established budget and file quarterly reports.

  6. Assist University faculty and staff in annual grant application process.

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX. The Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with the University’s Discrimination and Grievance Policy. Specifically, the Title IX Coordinator:

  • Coordinates educational programs and trainings regarding discrimination and harassment prevention for students and employees;

  • Responds to and seeks to resolve reports of discrimination and harassment following the Procedures;

  • Provides information about and, if requested, assists with criminal reporting;

  • Provides information about resources for obtaining advocacy, healthcare, and counseling services; and
