This includes using the CRM system. This person will work with the recruitment and retention teams to ensure effective and efficient communications.

General Statement

The Social Media and Communications Specialist is responsible for the implementation of overall communications strategy and plan for use in the recruitment and retention of prospective and current students. This includes using the CRM system. This person will work with the recruitment and retention teams to ensure effective and efficient communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the implementation of overall communications strategy and plan for use in the recruitment and retention of prospective and current students. • Develop, deploy and manage email campaigns to prospects, applicants, accepted students, and enrollee cohorts to sustain interest, and to encourage students to respond to incorporated calls to action for the appropriate offices on campus. • Develop and/or review all print communications (official notifications) for consistency in tone, voice, and delivery. • Deploy, track, and assess social media platforms in the enrollment of new students to assure consistency in tone, voice, and information conveyed among departments • Plan, create and implement digital ad campaigns (Social Media and Google) • Communicate and Foster relationships with other marketing and outreach channels to ensure MSUN’s messaging is being widely seen and is inline with University branding • Review/coordination telemarketing plans for outreach to prospects, applicants, admits and enrollees including scripts, tracking of calls, monthly tracking reports. • Develop strategy for use of departmental websites to keep them perceived as resources for ongoing information rather than simply for transactional purposes. Employ Google analytics to track and assess website activity • Develop and deliver series of digital messages for newly admitted/enrolling students during the months preceding the beginning of each semester. This involves working with Orientation and Advisement, Housing, Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, Admissions, and the Registrar • Coordinate Enrollment Management Communications to Continuing Undergraduate Students • Develop on going email campaigns for departments – as appropriate – with calls to action for enrolled students regarding deadlines to enhance continuing student retention • Support the development of new programs, visit days, events and offices with roll-out communication plans • Serve on committees as needed or requested. • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree • Demonstrated experience in written, social media, and oral communication. • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, printing and publishing skills.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrated marketing and/or sales experience • Demonstrated admissions, recruiting, or advising experience in higher education • Demonstrated event planning experience • Demonstrated experience in admissions or other email campaigns • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Radius or other CRM • Demonstrated telemarketing experience • Excellent writing and editing skills • Excellent presentation skills • Excellent graphic art design and implementation skills • Master’s Degree

Title IX Coordinator

The Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the University’s compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws, including Title IX.
