Job Description

The Creative Content Strategy Principal is responsible for defining the creative content strategy, leading a team of writers, and working with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to articulate and align key messages based on business, department or project objectives. This position oversees the end-to-end development of impactful copy and content for a wide range of channels and platforms for internal and external audiences.


  • Develop, drive and continuously improve the brand tone of voice and strategic positioning across all deliverables, channels and platforms including writing key creative messages across all marketing and communication channels

  • Oversee strategic ideation, creation, and execution of editorial storytelling and content, clearly articulating the business goals and fulfilling audience needs across channels

  • Establish style guides that specify the writing style and tone needed to create engaging content for our unique audiences

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Prime’s business, audiences, total drug management, and health care; leverage this knowledge to translate complex business strategies into compelling creative and effective marketing communications

  • Develop strong relationships and collaborate closely with creative leads, designers, project managers and cross-functional partners

  • Apply new and different ways of thinking to generate new ideas/opportunities, capably and confidently challenging existing standard practices

  • Act as a brand champion, ensuring authenticity and consistency in Brand Tone/Voice cultivating a sense of community around brand messaging

  • Influence internally and externally to gain commitment, agreement, and support while sustaining an environment of trust and collaboration

  • Manage a team of creative professionals by providing thoughtful leadership, setting clear goals and expectations, providing development opportunities, and helping to maximize the contributions of each team member; assist with department budget, staffing, performance and development, and consistently demonstrate Prime’s leadership expectations during interactions with direct reports, cross functional and external stakeholders

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, creative writing, advertising or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

  • 8 years of writing experience in marketing, advertising or public relations at an internal or external agency

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Skilled at long-form content creation, eye-catching headlines and real-time content creation

  • Understanding of different audiences, channels and best practices for effective content by channel

  • Highly organized & proactive leader adept at balancing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a portfolio demonstrating business-to-business and business-to-consumer conceptual thinking and content competency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and adaptable to a Mac/PC environment

  • Proven ability to follow Associated Press (AP) style guidelines as well as organization style guide in composing all written pieces

  • Demonstrated expertise in plain language, able to translate complex subject matter into readable and engaging content

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)/healthcare industry

  • 1+ year of management/people leadership experience

  • Knowledge of Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid health care insurance markets

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to Sr Dir Creative Services and Brand in the Marketing department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $89,300.00 - $142,500.00 based on location, experience and skills.
