Job Summary

The Social Media Marketing & Communications Specialist position will serve as a subject matter expert in social and digital media strategy development and tactical campaign execution. Reporting to the Social Media Marketing & Communications Manager, this individual can be based in/near our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, Seattle or Washington DC regional offices, and will guide and support global reputation, marketing and revenue growth efforts for an enterprise-level B2B brand.

This is a subject matter expert position, with responsibility for overseeing and executing projects as they relate to the company’s social media marketing objectives, including thought leadership activities, branding, recruiting, employee advocacy, executive support and reputation management. Primary responsibility is to manage element(s) of the company’s social media presence across organic, paid and advocacy channels, in collaboration with the promotional activities across other marketing teams. This professional must understand and communicate the social media strategy and vision to assigned work groups and internal clients. They will ensure alignment to functional, market segment and sales-enabling strategies across our global footprint. Critical skills include social media strategy development and execution, copywriting, campaign performance management, promotion and engagement strategies, social analytics and familiarity with leading social media platforms and best practices. Experience in branding activities including marketing campaigns, search engine optimization and marketing automation platforms is preferred. Experience with global B2B social media strategies and tactics is a must.

Can be based in/nearAtlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, Seattle or Washington DC.

Ability to travel up to 5%.

Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for implementing an engaging and unique company “voice” across all social media platforms and ensuring that all messages adhere accordingly.

  • Create and maintain a social media strategy plan and content calendar, inclusive of a content marketing strategy, and goals and mechanisms for measurement and reporting.

  • Respond to comments and inquiries as appropriate; monitor for awareness and engagement opportunities when needed.

  • Project management for a work group or project team. Act as a subject matter expert and resource regarding social-media related matters and convene with internal partners and other stakeholders as needed to ensure strategy and messaging are consistent, coordinated, and optimized.

  • Aids in the establishment of priorities; provides work direction and assignments; monitors work to ensure deliverables are completed on time and adhere to quality standards.

  • Tracks budget for social media campaigns and monitors results.

Communications & Marketing

  • Participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans that maximize company sales and contribute to profitable growth.

  • Focus is on a single, easily identified brand

  • Basic understanding of SEO principles (e.g., keyword research and Google Analytics), and how SEO informs a social media strategy.

  • Manages social media activities e.g. leading projects, developing/reviewing/ editing/approving all forms of content for digital use.

  • Participates in forecasting of internal and external needs to develop content for a wide variety of complex marketing and communications applications and programs.

  • Responsible for managing a production schedule.

  • Applies advanced communication knowledge, skills and principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing critical thinking and problem solving to prioritize work.

  • Monitors budget performance of assigned projects.

  • Stays well-versed in social media trends and emerging opportunities for the brand.

Management Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience: 5+ years progressive experience, including 2+ years supervising campaigns or projects.

  • Experience with curating and creating digital content that resonates with desired audiences

  • Familiarity in working with creative resource teams to develop engaging, experiential content optimized for each social channel.

  • Ability to develop, drive, report on and optimize global-level social strategies

  • Ability to analyze campaigns and provide actionable feedback to contributors/stakeholders across business lines. Results and ROI should tie back to marketing/recruitment/branding objectives.

  • Experience in providing direction to assigned project teams or work groups in a lead project management capacity.

  • Proactive and works well in both independent and collaborative settings.

  • Deep understanding of mainstream social media channels (with extensive knowledge of LinkedIn specifically) and associated third-party social media management tools, such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, etc.

  • Experience using social media channels for community building, crisis response and reputation management.

  • Strong writing, editing & proofreading skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or a related field; or equivalent experience

Experience: 4+ years related experience
