What You’ll Be Doing:

  • New Century Health (NCH) is looking for a Senior Analyst of Strategic Finance to join our team of Finance professionals working to advance NCH’s growth mission

  • This role is part of NCH’s Chief Financial Officer’s organization; the team is an integral part of both the NCH team and the broader Evolent Finance team (Evolent is NCH’s parent company)

  • The Senior Analyst will contribute to critical Finance team functions, including FP&A with a focus on producing NCH’s monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages / reports

  • The position will provide NCH’s leadership team with data-driven financial and operational analyses to inform strategic decision-making, forecasting, and areas of future investment

  • This individual will support Finance components of cross-functional projects, collaborating with teammates from other NCH departments, including Operations, Growth, Analytics, Actuarial, and Product & Strategy

  • NCH’s Finance team not only works closely with other departments across NCH, but also partners with Evolent Corporate departments including Accounting and Talent

Responsibilities:

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Reporting (FP&A) -

  • Produce NCH financial packages / reports

  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and corporate planning

  • Maintain Adaptive Insights financial information, including automating reporting and developing process automation initiatives

  • Continuously seek to improve our financial models as the business evolves and the customer base and product offerings expand

  • Serving as point-person for Finance / Talent cross-functional operations

  • Working with internal stakeholders as part of the budgeting process, including monitoring department level performance vs. budget

Strategic Decision-Making Support -

  • Produce summary financial materials including monthly and quarterly financial summaries and any ad hoc materials (e.g., Board materials, analyses for Executive stakeholders) as needed

  • Summarize key business metrics and KPIs to track drivers of financial health

  • Maintain existing standard models (e.g., pricing, cost allocations, staffing) to drive consistency, accuracy, and scalability across our business

  • Contribute to development of financial models / materials as part of special projects, including finance and business development initiatives (e.g., new investments)

The Experience We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience

  • 2-3 years of experience as an Analyst or Associate in corporate finance (FP&A), investment banking, or other Finance role with substantial financial modeling experience and ideally coming from an institution with a training / rotational / development program

  • The team would consider a candidate with fewer years of experience for an Analyst level position

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work independently and manage time across multiple work streams and stakeholders

  • Extraordinarily detail oriented and focus on accuracy

  • Exceptionally strong analytical abilities, with a track record of identifying insights from financial information and translating into business analytics and recommendations

  • Experience with Adaptive Insights or other reporting tools like Power BI / Tableau

  • Experience in or exposure to the healthcare space, pricing, and / or operational analytics

Technical Requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

Compensation Range: The minimum salary for this position is $70,000, plus benefits. Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
