Merck Business Intelligence Technical Analyst (Remote) in Helena, Montana

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Technical Analyst(TA), you will work as a member of the Manufacturing Division IT team supporting Supply Chain analytics. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and solving complex business problems related to manufacturing and supply chain. You will receive training to achieve this, and you’ll be amazed at the diversity of opportunities to develop your potential and grow professionally. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and determine BI capabilities that will enable the creation of Insights-focused solutions that align to business needs and ensure that delivery of these solutions meet quality requirements.

Primary job responsibilities/activities include:

  • Work with the business partners to understand business requirements around delivering last mile analytical solutions, as well as understanding security requirements to support such requirements

  • Responsible for ensuring quality and understanding of end-to-end(E2E) solution for all BI analytics projects

  • Provide end-to-end delivery ownership for data pipelines assigned.

  • Performing cleansing, processing, and validation on the data subject to analyze, to ensure its quality.

  • Create dashboards to explore and visualize data.

  • Performing statistical analysis and experiments to derive business insights

  • Create documentation for the solutions you create, enhance and support in line with System Development Lifecycle company standards

  • Mockup/protypes, development deliverables and technical architecture (if needed), test cases, and deployment plans.

  • Ensure all technical deliverables meet necessary standards and team is striving for innovative, high quality and cost effective solutions for our Business

  • Support the implementation of process and framework/architectural refinements that will enable the team to continuously improve delivery

  • Work closely with various stakeholders and peers to deliver to scope and schedule.

  • As a member of the Supply Chain technical team, the TA establishes the technical capabilities working with various IT teams. Once the capability is established, will help manage the backlog and guide the team deliver requirements thus enhancing the overall supply chain capabilities.

  • Test solutions functionalities and analytical capabilities with the business use cases, train the users and document the results.

  • Participate in evaluations and proof of concept activities

Education Requirement: Bachelors degree ( prefer B.S. or M.S. in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field)

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of working experience in the BI and Analytics space including strong technical understanding of BI tools and architecture

  • 5+ years of leading BI development and design

  • Working experience with QlikSense and Power BI

  • Experience with leading teams and eliciting requirements for complex systems

  • Working experience on projects utilizing Agile methodology

  • High Proficiency in Information Management, Data Analysis and Reporting Requirement Elicitation

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Understanding of modern data product components

Deep understanding of data management best practices and data analytics

Ability to lead requirements sessions with clients and project teams

Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate results and issues to internal and client teams

Demonstrated experience in the Life Science space
