Special Information: The Montana State Library seeks a talented individual with exceptional budgeting and accounting skills to serve as our Centralized Services Manager. The successful candidate will value and demonstrate transparent fiscal policies and practices. The position develops and monitors the agency’s budget and financial reports in accordance with state accounting laws and practices in order to meet the priorities established by the State Library Commission and the leadership team of the Library; advises agency personnel on budgetary options to achieve strategic goals; reports to the State Librarian, and is a member of the leadership team; and supervises an accounting technician and an administrative assistant. Duties: This position is the Central Services Manager for the Montana State Library (MSL) which is a member of the MSL leadership team. The Central Services Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, supervising, coordinating and evaluating accounting, budget preparation, purchasing, property/inventory control, payroll/employee benefits, personnel, and other administrative services functions for the agency. Duties include making fiscal policy recommendations, providing budget analysis, oversight, and direction; developing and administering agency accounting and fiscal management policies and systems; developing, allocating, monitoring and managing agency resources (e.g., budget, staff, equipment, facilities), representing MSL with governmental officials and the legislature; and other duties in support of the agency mission and objectives.
