Civil Engineer - Hydrology/Hydraulics ROBERT PECCIA & ASSOCIATES (RPA)
is an award-winning 100 percent employee-owned (ESOP) full-service civil
engineering, planning and land surveying firm with offices in Helena,
Kalispell, and Bozeman, Montana. RPA is proud to provide personalized
services and practical and sustainable engineering solutions for public
and private clients across the northwest. We are seeking an
enthusiastic, experienced water resources engineer to join us working
from any of our offices. With an emphasis in hydrology and hydraulics
for transportation-related projects, this person will work with project
managers and lead designers to continue to provide exceptional service
to our clients. As a member of our firm, you would: • Join a fantastic
team in our Helena, MT office contributing to highways, municipal, and
site development design projects. • Demonstrate technical ability
through analysis and design of common drainage and water resources
tasks. Applications include the design of storm sewer collection and
detention systems, culverts, water quality BMPs, pipe hydraulics, bridge
hydraulics, scour, floodplain evaluation, irrigation design, and permit
compliance. • Review team member preliminary designs for compliance with
federal, state, and local criteria and regulations. • Perform site
reviews and studies to ensure designs are aligned with location
constraints and specifications. • Assist in the development of study and
design documents and plans, including alternative analysis, quantity,
and cost estimates. • Develop existing and proposed drainage plans in
MicroStation. • Meet with and effectively communicate with project team
partners. • Solve complex problems through critical thinking and the
application of innovative solutions. • Represent the company in meetings
with clients, public agencies, and the public. • Assist in preparing
proposals and fee estimates. • Apply quality assurance and quality
control procedures. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS • Professional Engineers
License required. Minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience
working as a Civil Engineer primarily on transportation-focused
projects. • Experienced in roadside drainage including storm drain
modeling, culvert sizing, and channel analysis and preparation of
engineering design details and supporting documents and reports. •
Proficient in analysis software such as HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS,
HY-8, and SSA, and CADD design software such as MicroStation and
OpenRoads or Civil3D. • Demonstrated experience with state and local
government projects. Experience in federal government work applications
beneficial. • Strong communication skills. • Effective time management
skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Good
organizational skills with strong attention to detail. • Strong work
