Change Healthcare Contract Specialist, Network Solutions in Helena, Montana

Overview of Position

The Contract Specialist will provide legal support to the sales and business organizations through drafting various types of agreements and act as an advisor to the sales and business organizations to advise on legal issues facing their business and processes to minimize Change Healthcare’s exposure and risk. As a valued member of the Legal and Compliance organization, this position has visibility and exposure to upper management in supporting a competitive business within the healthcare industry. The Contract Specialist will work closely with and collaborate with Counsel and Sr. Counsel. The Contract Specialist will help the Change Healthcare legal and compliance department become a world-class high-performing organizationWhat will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Draft various agreements and capture negotiated provisions in Change Healthcare contract documents with minimal attorney oversight

  • Work through a diverse scope of issues where analysis of the information may require identification and evaluation of many relevant potential factors

  • Effectively explain licensing and other legal and contracting principles to internal clients and external customers

  • Communicate with sales and business teams regarding contract status, information needed to complete drafting, and legal and compliance issues identified

  • Anticipate contracting issues and initiate appropriate actions to ensure contract documents are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies and guidelines

  • Handle multiple tasks and priorities in a changing business environment

  • Potentially train and manage additional contracting resources

  • Exercise reasonable judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining contracting solutions

  • Interface with various internal business groups (Finance, Technical Accounting, Regulatory, Intellectual Property, etc.) to ensure contract documents are drafted correctly

  • Conduct research on legal issues or other topics as required

  • Participate on special project teams and in the creation of tools to enable process improvements as needed

  • Update and maintain various internal reporting systems

  • Adherence to process is critical and developing updates to process may be necessary from time to time

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 5+ Years of contract drafting and negotiation experience

  • BS or BA Degree

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Communicate openly, clearly, and completely (including excellent written skills).

  • Listen to the needs of the internal client or external customer to understand the broader context of issues that arise during contract negotiations and strategic initiatives

  • Adapt quickly to ever-changing internal and business policies and procedures

  • Demonstrated excellence in conducting in-depth legal research and analysis regarding a broad range of health care issues

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex initiatives in a self-directed manner, with minimal oversight by attorneys, and to deliver superior results in a timely manner

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with broad spectrum of business unit attorneys, compliance officers and business unit representatives

  • Ability to prioritize multiple, ongoing initiatives and efficiently re-prioritize such responsibilities, as may be required in a changing business environment

  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients and promote the reputation and integrity of the Legal and Compliance Department and Company
