*What is this career opportunity?
The General Services Divisionis seeking an energetic, service oriented individual to join their custodial team that is responsible for cleaning the Capitol building and various other buildings! You would perform a variety of tasks such as cleaning floors and restrooms, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, performing routine upkeep activities, and notifying management when repairs are needed. You would respond to emergencies involving the clean-up of potential bio-hazards and food/beverage spills. The Capitol building is a historic treasure containing ornate art and classical architecture. You would be responsible for selecting the proper cleaning method in a variety of situations.
This is a regular, full time positions with the State of Montana. Lookhereto see the benefits! The shift available is a night shift – Monday through Friday from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

What are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent;
One or more years of custodial experience;
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Custodial equipment, practices, procedures, and supplies;
Cleaning chemicals, the related hazards, and safety standards.
Deliver outstanding customer service;
Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, and wet and dry hand drills;
Work collaboratively with a variety of people, and establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Safely and effectively operate and maintain all custodial equipment;
Handle chemical cleaning agents safely;
Self-motivated and maintains a positive and pleasant attitude;
Multi-task and perform successfully in a dynamic environment;
Operate a computer to perform data entry such as timekeeping and e-mail;
Recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions.
