Additional benefit package information is available here. _ *Does this job match your strengths?* *Job Overview* The Commissioner of Securities and Insurance, Montana State Auditor’s Office, is seeking applications for an appointed position of a Digital & Creative Services Director. This appointed position reports directly to the Chief of Staff. The Digital & Creative Services Director will oversee all internal and external communications involving the Office of the Montana State Auditor, Commissioner of Securities and Insurance. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a communications strategy and a broad diverse range of organizational and consumer communications in supports the agency’s mission of advocating for the citizens of Montana and protecting Montana consumers by ensuring fairness, transparency and access for Montanans in the securities and insurance industries. A major responsibility of this position is coordinating communication efforts to achieve the highest possible standard of quality, timeliness, and consistency that align with a “consumer-focused” and “outward mindset” communication strategies with an emphasis on graphic design. The agency is amid exciting changes including building a new website, strengthening the agency brand, and the creation of new digital products such as podcasts, videos, and innovative online resources that serve the citizens of Montana. This position will serve as the individual contributor for branding and promotional collateral, presentations, videos, event-related creative assets, and website creating elements. *Qualifications* *What are we looking for? *The successful candidate in this position must be motivated, creative and hardworking. In addition to what we’re looking for in a candidate, below are some of the responsibilities associated with this position: *Responsibilities: * * Guide the creative process from concept to production to deliver professional work product for both internal and external-facing audiences, including but not limited to branding, newsletters, presentations, videos, event-related creative assets, and website creative elements. * Oversee and drive the agency website redesign with an eye toward impact/value and engagement, including effective navigation, content, clarity, and design, to continually improve customer satisfaction and meet agency needs. * Prepare internal and external communications, newsletters, and branding in various print and online platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry publications. * Serve as the agency “brand champion” by ensuring brand consistency across all departments within the agency and deliver high-quality materials and results. * Inspire, brainstorm, and produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex concepts into clear and compelling visual narratives (presentations, infographics, animations, data visualization, etc.) to explain, educate and engage diverse audiences. * Lead all aspects of design and production for the organization’s content and serve as a steward of the agency’s visual/content “brand.” * Collaborate with the leadership to develop and support the agency’s mission statement, shape communication initiatives, and develop new ideas. * Provide a forward-looking planned approach to the agency’s communication strategies. * Conduct strategic media outreach that support agency goals, enhances relationships, and builds trust. * Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with various members of the media. * Provide input concerning graphics, clarity, distribution, and assist in development of agency collateral to all agency bureaus. * Develop, compose, distribute, and implement policies to enhance the efficiency of the agency-wide communications to further develop building and maintaining a positive public image. * Provide and oversee event planning and agenda development. * Perform other related duties as assigned. *Competencies:* * Excellent verbal and written communication skills that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of difference audiences. * Provide support and mentoring to other staff members. * Demonstrate communication effectiveness in a variety of communication settings to include one-on-one, small, and large groups, or among diverse styles and positive levels. * Exhibit strong interpersonal savvy, relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people. * Must have a strategic and creative mindset and be able to see ahead into future possibilities, while translating them into breakthrough strategies. * Ability to cultivate innovation, while creating new and better ways for the agency to be successful. * Strong ability to shape narratives from initiation to implementation to enhance the image of the agency to all critical audiences. * Ability to write in a journalistic style and create presentations that are customary for both internal and external publications. * Adept in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Keynote, or related software. * Skill in web design, development and maintenance using various software programs including Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, Wordpress. * Organized with attention to detail. * Excellent managerial and organizational abilities. * Ability to work with executive leadership and agency employees at all levels. * Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams to present a coherent message. * Strong time-management and strategic skills. * Substantial relevant professional experience of producing content across diverse media platforms. *Does this role match your knowledge, skills, and abilities, and what we’re looking for in a candidate?* If you have the experience performing the various responsibilities and the competencies for this position, we would welcome hearing more about your experiences and invite you to apply.
