Helena College is seeking qualified applicants who wish to become part of a dynamic and creative team for a full-time position as a Director of Community Education Center. Duties and Responsibilities The mission of Helena College is to support our diverse community by providing the paths and tools necessary to assist learners in achieving their educational and career goals. The Community Education Center serves an important role in fulfilling our mission through hosting of community enrichment courses, non-credit workforce training programs, customized employer trainings, the statewide Montana Motorcycle Rider Safety program and the regional Small Business Development Center office. The Community Education Center is a self-supporting auxiliary unit of Helena College with primary responsibility for overseeing the development, planning and assessment of the following program areas: enrichment programs for life-long learning, professional development, contract training, industry specific professional certificates, customized trainings, Small Business Development Center, workforce development, testing center, and the Montana Motorcycle Rider Safety Program. Duties of the Director include maintaining and developing program budgets, hiring adjunct faculty members and staff, as well as insuring quality within these program areas. This position plays a significant role in coordinating and facilitating relationships between Helena College and local and regional industry to tailor programs to meet the educational needs of their employees. This position reports directly to the Dean/CEO of Helena College. Provide direction and supervision of the Community Education Center program and staff including the Regional Director of the Small Business Development Center, CEC Program Director, Program Coordinator II, Testing Center proctors, CDL Director and educational and testing staff, MMRS Program Director and all Rider Coaches and safety staff and administration, Licensed Massage Therapy Director and all associated instructors and staff, Certification Program employees (ie, phlebotomy, Clinical Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician instructors), Continuing Education Program adjunct faculty and Temporary employees and additional work study and temporary staff. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor?s degree and three years of work experience with a focus in continuing education, adult learning, or a related field. The equivalent combination of work experience and education will be considered. A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred. Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities An MBA from an accredited institution or other Master?s degree in a business-related field is preferred. Experience in the design, development, delivery, management, and evaluation of self-supporting programs and services and workforce development. At least five years of directly-related experience in lending, public accounting, business consulting, workforce training & development, and/or business management is required. Experience in small business, workforce, community, and/or economic development organizations may be considered in lieu of education. Demonstrated successful experience with facilitating and establishing annual, quarterly and monthly industry driven and employer focused workforce development & training programs. Development of budget & marketing plans and conducting regular programmatic review and evaluations to guide evaluation, continuous improvement and strategic expansion of related programs. Salary and Benefits Information $70,000 annual salary.
