I mmediate openings for a Full-time Afternoon/Evening Float Custodian at Helena High School At Helena Public schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a Afternoon/Evening Float Custodian you contribute to this mission by keeping the district's buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they preent no problems or interuptions to the education program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ serving 8,000 students and 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:
Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow, lawn) etc.
Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.
Restocks disposable items and provides day maintenance person with inventory usage and data.
Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.
Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
Performs light maintenance as needed.
Assists the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.
Maintains building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special events,
To become part of this dedicated team, you need:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training;
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.
Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning suppllies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionaly the empoyee will lift and/or move up to 100 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation. Entry level salary is $16.65 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefit package consisting of 15 paid vacation leave days per full calendar year, up to 12 paid sick leave days per calendar year, 13 paid holidays, genarous health insurance and retirement.
