Oracle Field CTO Cloud Communications Industry Vertical – Oracle North America Cloud Engineering in Helena, Montana

Job Description

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.

Responsible for engaging with strategic and more complex customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new solutions, products, and processes. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Acts as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

Minimum qualifications include: 12 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic.

Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 12 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of penetrating accounts, meeting stakeholders within accounts, and interaction with C level; Competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 12 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

Job Overview

The cloud CTO is the most senior customer-facing architecture role within North America Cloud Engineering and is critical to the relationship between the customer and Oracle. The CTO acts as a bridge between the needs of the customer to the cloud solutions and services that Oracle may bring to bear to deliver value to the customer. The Cloud CTO role is the definition of our most senior hybrid technical and business advisor. In this role, you will demonstrate executive level qualities, lead the conversation and direct the execution of the sales team by combining both technical vision and business insight. The cloud CTO provides leadership within Oracle across the various cloud pillars to ensure that Oracle’s value offerings to the customer are feasible, consistent, effective and aligned to the customer need. The people in this role need to be as adept at customer engagements as they are at the technology.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the following:

  • Build a trusted advisory relationship with Oracle's top strategic customers.

  • Acts as a liaison between the customer's needs to the cloud solutions and services that Oracle may bring to bear to deliver value to the customer.

  • Build cloud architecture vision shows how a business need can be met, or opportunity realized, by a particular combination of cloud technology capabilities.

  • Work with internal account team and external customer teams to create and execute 3-year cloud strategy blueprints and use case adoption roadmaps for cloud initiatives at the CIO, CTO, or SVP of Engineering level to deliver business value and resolve blockers.

  • Design and deliver enterprise cloud strategy and clearly articulate business architecture - vision, capability models, capability assessments, and technical cloud architecture - current and future state, solution best practices, migration strategies, and operational excellence frameworks.

  • Navigating organizations, identifying stakeholders, dealing with various interests and politics, establishing credibility for Oracle and Oracle cloud platform.

  • Ensuring customers are following best practices, guidance, and recommendations to develop cloud solutions that are secure, resilient, efficient, and managed with operational excellence.

  • Lead cross-functional teams of Oracle subject matter experts to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies and solutions on time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of industry experience and 5+ years selling technology and cloud-based services.

  • 4+ years of working experience with modern Cloud Platforms - Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, and GCP.

  • 3+ years of working as a CTO/ Enterprise architect/comparable position.

  • Proven record of collaborating with and advising to C-Suite teams.

  • Have worked in customer-facing roles like sales, field CTO, customer success, and influencing confidence and are determined to make things happen.

  • Proven technical background with a strong understanding of architecture complimented with experience of managing complex enterprise cloud transformations and driving appropriate strategic and pragmatic choices.

  • Have worked with enterprise customers in a cloud technologist role to successfully build customer-specific cloud vision, architectures, and adoption strategies.

  • Excellent written and oral communication, facilitation and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.

  • Have worked with the enterprise customers in their cloud journey and successfully guided them with their different workloads cloud migration process and procedures.

  • Versed in enterprise architecture and technology and ability to clearly articulate business architecture (vision, capability models, capability assessments) and technical architecture (current and future state capabilities, strategic roadmaps, solution best practices, reference architectures, design patterns).

  • Experience with cloud adoption strategies and technologies - IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Software-defined Networking, cloud-native development, cloud security, and multi-cloud deployment model.

  • Experience with the enterprise applications like Oracle E-Business, Peoplesoft, JDE, and Non-Oracle applications like SAP and other ERPs are preferred.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Cloud certifications are preferred.
