State of Montana Fuel Truck Driver - 90709/10 (Seasonal - Helena) in Helena, Montana

These seasonal positions will be open until filled with review of applications starting February 1st, 2021, with applications reviewed every two weeks until May 31st, 2021. OUR MISSION: To help ensure that Montana's land and water resources provide benefits for present and future generations. http://www.dnrc.mt.gov/ FORESTRY DIVISION: *The Forestry Division, headquartered in Missoula, is responsible for planning and implementing forestry and fire management programs through an extensive network of staff located in field offices across the state. The Forestry Division has four major functions: fire & aviation management, forestry assistance, business management, and policy, planning & outreach. Following is a brief description of the programs, products and services offered through the Forestry Division's diverse programs. *DUTIES: Provides refueling support for State helicopter operations. Utilizes two-way radio to receive requests for and provides fuel to Helicopter; maintains records of all fueling; operates and maintains a 600-gallon fuel truck within the area to transport fuel; uses and maintains aircraft fueling system to include fuel tank, pump, filtering system, hoses and bonding cables to assure a safe operation; performs routine building and grounds maintenance to include painting, weeding, grass mowing and basic general repairs. ELIGIBILITY TO WORK: *In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, the person selected must produce within three days of hire documents that show authorization to work in the United States. Examples of such documentation include a birth certificate or Social Security card along with a driver’s license or other picture I.D., or a U.S. passport, or a "green card". *APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS: The Department of Natural Resources may include the following factors in determining whether an applicant meets the qualifications for the position: application form, typing test results, education, structured interview, job-related reference checks, job-related work experience, job-related current and past performance and application supplements. Applicants claiming employment preference are required to provide proper documentation, i.e. Vet Preference (DD214), Disabled Vet document from U.S. Veterans Administration certifying service connected disability or purple heart medal, disabled (SRS Certification), when submitting application. SPECIAL INFORMATION: Housing is available at this location. The seasonal positions will remain open and additional screening will occur as needed until positions are filled. Applicants for these positions must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire and have a valid drivers’ license and less than 12 conviction points over the most recent 36 months. All persons performing firefighting duties are required to pass a physical fitness test within three weeks of employment.* * APPROXIMATE DATES AND HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR TEMPORARY SEASONAL POSITIONS will depend on each position and will vary between June and September. Positions will be terminated at the end of the normal work season or as notified by the Department. Requirements: * 18 years of age at time of hire * Valid Driver’s License with less than 12 conviction points in the past 36 months. * Possess a valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Material, air brakes and tanker endorsements. * Must possess current CDL Medical card. * Must be able to work extended hours and weekends. * Must be able to travel within the state of Montana for up to 14 days at a time. * Must have considerable knowledge of truck operations and fueling systems, map reading, and GPS use desired.
