Responsibilities
Guidehouse seeks a Senior Functional Area Analyst. for our VA Team supporting the Office of Information Technology (OIT) team! OIT operates a Product Line Management (PLM) model to complement their Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) approach to product management, software delivery, and overall IT support. This Office currently supports 450 products within eight (8) Product Lines and two (2) Product Offices.
As a Functional Area Analyst, Sr., you will support OIT as it continues to mature into a PLM model. You will assist with the development/maturation/retirement of Product Lines within OIT’s Health Portfolio. These Product Lines are used to consolidate systems and products that share business strategy, objectives, and customers (within a common structure) to gain efficiencies in infrastructure, automation, and deployment. You will use your knowledge of DevSecOps to improve the experience of OIT customers, enable OIT to deploy new systems and update existing systems more quickly and frequently, and lower costs by leveraging industry best practices and innovation. As OIT continues its organizational transformation, the number of initiatives and products to be supported is expected to further expand and mature.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day portfolio management, engineering, technical support, human-centered design, and innovation support to OIT’s Product Lines and Product Offices. This support may include (but is not limited to):
Performing review of organizational structures, operations, policies, processes, systems, strategy and make recommendations for improvement.
Managing communications to internal and external stakeholders designed to advertise new capabilities, systems, and strategy updates as well as other OIT successes. Ensure coordinated replies to VA stakeholders in response to data calls or other requests for information.
Creating and implementing roadmaps for Health Service Product Lines, to include product modernization, resilience, monitoring, automation, and security elements.
Designing training plan for events including modernization of legacy systems, transition to Electronic Health Records. Training plans will include identification of training needs, goals, resources, risks, and learning objectives.
Work with client leadership to identify, plan, implement, and execute support for the Health Portfolio’s strategic priorities, including design strategy review of all design efforts to ensure consistency and unity across portfolio.
Lead continuous process improvement and innovation initiatives to ensure successful execution of OIT’s strategic goals.
Provide senior leadership support through the creating of briefings and reports, facilitating reoccurring meetings, and providing ad hoc research support.
The Senior Functional Area Analyst must have significant experience with the analysis of business, functional, technical, activities, and events. Analyst is responsible for working with users and customers to document and strategize for process improvements for current business processes (business process reengineering). Responsible for providing market research on conditions that impact the overall operational efficiency of an organization and identifying symptoms for process improvement. Qualifications
Required:
The Functional Area Analyst, Sr. must have:
Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required
Years of Experience: 10; 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance
Experience managing projects with complex data requirements, using Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
Detailed knowledge of the software development lifecycle and network engineering at the enterprise level.
Strong analytical and investigative skills for crafting solutions to challenging problems/issues, supporting business process reengineering efforts, and designing improvements to current policies.
Preferred:
Federal consulting experience.
Additional Requirements
The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
This role is available virtually for PST, CST or EST time zones. A strong preference will be given to candidates local to the Washington, DC area.
