    Helena School District # 1 has an opening for a full-time 7 hours per school day General Education Para Educator. The position is presently assigned to Capital High School and is assigned to the In School Suspension (ISS)/Credit Recovery Classroom.

As a General Education Para Educator, you contribute to this mission by assisting students individually and in small groups. You will work as part of a team of 160 serving 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:

  • Assists with individual and small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teachers' request.

  • Assists in maintaining discipline and other functions.

  • Assist with attendance and related clerical matters.

  • May escort students to and from various rooms.

    To become part of this dedicated team, you need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;

  • At least three (3) months of related experience and/or training;

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District.

  • Sucessful candidate should be willing to complete the Para Educators Achieving Standards Sucessfully (PASS) training

    Entry level salary range is $14.15 to $17.68 per hour depending on education level and applicable relevant work experience as determined by the District. Benefits include but are not limited to: paid sick and vacation leave, 3 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, up to 9 school calendar related paid days, health benefit plan and retirement.
