* *The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Disability Employment and Transitions Division (DETD), General Vocational Rehabilitation Bureau. This position leads and is responsible for the supervision and management of General Vocational Rehabilitation field activities. This executive leadership position plans, organizes, directs, supervises, evaluates, and manages a variety of Bureau activities in 9 field offices across the state of Montana. The program operates under a complex body of state and federal regulations which govern the expenditures of both state and federal funding. The program works with statewide partners and stakeholder groups and this position leads projects that advance competitive integrated employment initiatives. This position directly or indirectly supervises approximately 60 personnel who provide a variety of services to eligible individuals to help them prepare for and engage in competitive integrated employment. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * 21st-century understanding of the evolving labor force and the needs of individuals with disabilities. * Knowledgeand understanding of how to build program linkages and partnerships with other Departments at the federal, state, local governments. * Abilityto analyze systems, identify problems and recommend solutions. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in a field of study reasonably related to vocational rehabilitation counseling, disability studies, human services, business administration, social work, special education, psychology, or communications, or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with consumers and employers. o 5years of experience in work with individuals with disabilities in direct service or advocacy activities, or direct experience in competitive integrated employment initiatives. o 2years of supervisory or statewide administrative experience. o Othercombinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis. o Preferred: + Master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, law, social work, psychology, disability studies, business administration, or another field that reasonably provides competence in the employment sector, in a disability field, or both. * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website. Additional Information This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy. This position may be eligible for a statutory 4% an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2024. The primary location for this position is open for consideration contingent on available workspace.
