Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$106,300.00 - $175,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Business Insights Delivery team aims to enable the business by building solutions that turn data in to insights with well-designed data assets and effective, compelling dashboards and visualizations. As the Sr Manager, Business Insights Delivery, you will work to identify solutions and come to a consensus on the best way to achieve it by ensuring the team understands the tools and technologies available to deliver on business insights most efficiently. You may manage a team of Insights Delivery professionals while leading the adoption of development standards and guidelines. You will coordinate with business partners to prioritize, maintain progress, and timely delivery, while ensuring the execution strategy ties back to the long-term roadmap. This position may direct a team of data and analytic professionals.

What Will You Do?

The International Business Intelligence & Analytics (IBIA) team is looking for a Senior Manager to mature the Information delivery chapter for the department. We are looking for someone who not only wants to collaborate with local (UK/Ireland) stakeholders, but also who wants to work closely with IBIA and Travelers employees in the US and Canada.

Key responsibilities include-

Information delivery governance

  • Provide goversight / guidance to International warehouse (iHUB) Information delivery architecture/design for the applications

  • Ensure that Information delivery standards/best practices are developed, socialized and adhered across IBIA delivery / Information delivery teams

  • Perform code reviews to ensure that reusability/consistency/standardization practices are applied as part of Information delivery

  • Develop the required code configuration / version management best practices/guidelines

Information delivery chapter maturity

  • Identify and evaluate new tools/capabilities that would mature information delivery chapter (ex. embedded analytics, KNIME, Nprinting)

  • Build and develop partnerships with enterprise and line of business departments towards maturing the chapter

  • Develop the training and rollout plans for the new capabilities / tools developed and rollout across International departments

  • Drive and contribute to the building, execution and adoption of insights delivery solution among business partners, including reporting, guided analytics, self-service, embedded, augmented, and data as a service capability. Contribute thought leadership to semantic layer and material view design and builds.

  • Accountable for the selection of solution design options which includes the coordination with developers and architecture to map and present solutions, communicate timelines, and impact to business value and information delivery.

  • Collect detailed requirements and regularly updates business partners on development progress and expectations.

  • Partner with the Architecture team to assess and understand the patterns necessary to achieve the best outcome.

  • Review and provide feedback to developers on solution options and design execution to inform proposals and how they fit into the broader delivery strategy.

  • Provide feedback on the design of the broader insights portfolio and its ability to address business problems.

  • Review and approve code and insights delivery to production environments.

  • Coach and aid in the skill development of the team.

  • Align solution design to enterprise data management, security, and governance controls.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Experience with QlikView/Qlik Sense.

  • Information Design techniques and Tools such as: Python, Cloud, SQL, NoSQL, ESRI.

  • Experience with KNIME or SAS

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to use sound judgement to resolve issues as they arise.

  • Strong Business and Data Acumen to influence business outcomes and direction based on data available or acquired.

  • Ability to inform broader data and information delivery strategies.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree or four years equivalent experience with business intelligence tools, techniques, manipulation, or related.
