State of Montana Loan and Credit Analyst in Helena, Montana

About this Position Business MT is the leading economic development agency in the state. Our mission is to create, retain, expand and attract businesses that provide an economic impact for Montana communities through public/private partnerships, leveraged funding and support of economic opportunities for Montana businesses and entrepreneurs. The Business MT Division administers programs that provide technical assistance (finance, marketing, export, planning) and financial assistance (grants and loans) to Montana’s businesses with specific emphasis on projects that have business development, job creation and job retention opportunities. The Montana State Small Business Credit Initiative 2.0 Loan Participation Program (MT SSBCI 2.0 LPP) takes center stage in providing crucial assistance. MT SSBCI 2.0 LPP will serve as a lifeline for existing Montana businesses seeking additional capital to stabilize, pivot, expand, or initiate their operations. Simultaneously, it will offer support to new businesses entering the Montana market. The MT SSBCI 2.0 LPP collaborates with approved economic development organizations across the state, working together to identify small businesses within their respective regions that could gain significant advantages from participating in the program. Job Duties * Reviews and evaluates financial and economic feasibility of loans by reviewing financial spreads, utilization data, balance sheets, income statements, etc., to ensure full compliance with program policies * ServesonteamadministeringtheMTSSBCI2.0LPP,whichcontinuallyevaluatesprogramprocesses in meeting program requirements and goals.As a part of program administration team, troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise in administering the program * Trains and educates lenders, economic development organizations, civic and business leaders, and businessesthroughoutthestaterelativetotheMTSSBCI2.0LPP.Requiresathoroughknowledgeof the various state and federal small business financing programs * MonitorsMTSSBCI2.0LPPprojectstoensurecompliancewithstateandfederalregulations Education and Experience: * The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position are typically acquiredthroughfive(5)ormoreyearsofprofessionalexperiencewithfinancialloaninstitutionsor similar industries and education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, economics, accounting, or closely related field. * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. * It would pique our interest if you had experience with the State Small Business Credit Initiative program Competencies: Knowledge of: * Knowledge of credit analysis process to make a sound credit decision * Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and reporting of financial data Ability to: * CriticalThinking—Usinglogicandreasoningtoidentifythestrengthsandweaknessesof alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems * JudgmentandDecisionMaking—Consideringtherelativecostsandbenefitsofpotential actions to choose the most appropriate one How to apply Apply online by submitting yourresume.
