Job Description

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. React to potential problems using automation, scheduling, and monitoring tools -- escalating to management where appropriate. Participate in configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Responsible for support documentation as well.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 2-4 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.

Who are we?

The Data Center (DC) team at Oracle NetSuite Global Business Unit is responsible for all layer one services and technologies in our on-prem infrastructure. With the world moving towards the Cloud, NetSuite is actively adopting many Oracle Cloud solutions to support growth and performance. However, this transition from on-prem infrastructure to Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure does not happen without conceptualizing, developing, and deploying many infrastructure solutions for NetSuite. This is where the Data Center team at NetSuite comes in. The team is actively working towards the expansion of NetSuite by deploying new servers, decommissioning old hardware and continuous process improvements, and innovative business transformation methodologies.

Position Overview:

An Oracle Data Center Technician will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the 24x7 Data Center Environment. Can troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. As a skilled troubleshooter on a wide range of Data Center equipment, they understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. Create and maintain documentation on technologies we support. They uderstand all aspects of the equipment we support. Know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, but also know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. They are being flexible on hours and shift schedules to meet business needs. They are expected to improve current processes and introduce automation with an aim toward simplification.


  • Receive/ship data center equipment.

  • Rack and install data center equipment.

  • Maintain asset inventory.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and RMA failed data center hardware.

  • Be accessible via pager and/or cell phone.

  • Participate in training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies.


  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle servers hardware.

  • Experience working in a data center environment.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong interest in learning.

  • Dependable.

  • Process-oriented.

  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment on occasion.

  • Show professionalism on your daily data center routine activities for a shift in a 24/7/365 working environment

  • Must be local to the Seattle area

Must-Have Skills:

  • 2-year degree or 2-4 years experience in a data center environment.

  • 2+ Years of Data Center experience

  • 1- year troubleshooting PC hardware (memory, storage, SCSII, network, motherboards).

  • 1-year experience in data center maintenance.

  • Cabling experience (Ethernet, Fiber-channel, cable management).

  • Electrical systems experience.

  • Ability to prioritize

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Linux + scripting

  • Basic networking knowledge.

  • Compaq / HP Hardware experience (Proliant), Oracle Servers, preferably with Linux

  • A+ Certificate
