Network Delivery Engineering at Meta is primarily focused on enabling the Network Infrastructure team to build our extensive global network including our Data Centers, Backbone, Fiber Infrastructure, and Edge Networks. We do this by building software platforms and frameworks, automated pipelines, easy-to-use tools and UIs, and focusing on overall reliability of the ecosystem.As a part of the Network Delivery Integration team, you will be solving business problems by leveraging our technology and data analytics. One way this is achieved is through connecting various systems together into an end-to-end pipeline to enable efficient, predictable, transparent, and reliable network delivery and operation. Another way this is achieved is by identifying and adapting existing systems to networking use-cases in areas such as modeling, design, configuration, and monitoring. Many of these systems are owned by the Network Delivery Systems team that we partner very closely with.The work on this team has a consulting nature to it; we are connecting people and teams together to ultimately make the lives of the people involved in delivering our network easier. We strive to have a closer understanding of how each space works by embedding, partnering, and/or trying out what we build to make sure it solves the right problem together.
Work in fast-paced global team environments and solve complex problems with limited supervision
Gather customer needs, requirements, and define scope for network delivery workflows
Conduct design and code reviews
Analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes to issues
Together with your engineering team, you will share an on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for service incidents
Working knowledge in designing, deploying, migrating and/or operating network infrastructure
5+ years of experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go, etc.)
Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs
Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Understanding of network design in Data Center, Backbone, and/or Edge networks
Experience with at least one network protocol (TCP, IP, BGP, RPC, etc.)
Understanding and execution of data modeling and system performance analytics
