ICF Consulting Group, Inc. On-call Public Health Research Assistant in Helena, Montana

ICF seeks a Public Health Research Assistant to support an ongoing evaluation project within the Sexual Health Portfolio in the Public Health line of business in Oklahoma City, OK. The selected candidate(s) will be responsible for performing key tasks and assisting in the performance of evaluation in the areas of adolescent and school health and youth programming by conducting site observations, entering information from those observations, and helping to identify opportunities for quality improvement based on the observations.

Candidates must have the ability to conduct in person observations at local schools and community-based organizations in Oklahoma City. All candidates must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with internal colleagues, clients, and their constituents. Candidates must have a solid grounding in public health and/or education.

Experience in any of the following content areas is desired for this position: adolescent health, sexual health, school health or school-related evaluation, working with youth programming, evidence-based programs for teen pregnancy prevention or HIV/STI prevention. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who can work independently to solve problems creatively and work effectively within a team, while contributing to overall project goals. Candidates must be able to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities for this position will involve conducting structured observations of evidence-based programs conducted in schools and community-based organizations.

  • Collecting and tracking data to from observations to inform evaluation or performance monitoring technical assistance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in health education or a related field.

  • Understanding of evidence-based practices related to HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience conducting research or evaluation in partnership with school districts, schools, or other youth-serving organizations is highly desired.

  • Experience conducting research and evaluation of HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention, youth development, mental health, or substance use prevention initiatives is a plus.

  • Understanding of evidence-based practices related to HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention is preferred.

  • Experience with implementing evidence-based programs HIV, STD, and pregnancy prevention is preferred.

  • Strong oral communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, superior attention to detail, and ability to meet stringent deadlines.

  • Superior interpersonal skills including professionalism, courtesy, and a cooperative attitude.

  • Candidate should be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and be self-motivated.

  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
