The Montana Department of Labor & Industry (DLI),/Employment Relations Division/, is looking for an energetic, creative individual to perform work in the areas of Outreach/Education, Content Management, Event Planning and Marketing of division programs. This position also includes supervising and providing leadership to 2 full-time staff. As an/Outreach Manager/you will: * Transform the division’s outreach and education capabilities * Be the thought leader for the division as it relates to marketing programs, coordinating events/conferences, delivering outreach/training, and reviewing/refining content available to the public * You will work with all levels of the organization, creating a vision, coordinating efforts, leading projects and planning events * Create strategic, sustainable partnerships with a variety of groups and associations to improve the division’s delivery of services * You will review publications and the website to ensure our content is achieving our objectives You will lead and provide direction for two full time staff who are focused on delivering regular outreach/training opportunities for various stakeholders. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of: * principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. * principles and processes for providing customer and personal service. * principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, and training. * general marketing techniques, theories, and applications. Skills in: * planning and managing large events/conferences. * creative writing and content editing. * customer service and interpersonal relationships. * PowerPoint, Excel and Word. * project management and schedule tools. Ability to: * listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. * resolve customer questions and complaints with courtesy and respect. * manage multiple events/projects concurrently. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, tear down and set up events, and load and unload vehicles. This position requires the ability to drive and travel. Travel consists of four or more outreach events per year. Requires overnight stays which may be a weeklong during event. Other short duration trips may be required to organize events and select appropriate venues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Relevant bachelor's degree in communications, business or public administration; or a related field. * Minimum of two years of directly related qualifying experience. * Must be able to demonstrate your management skills, knowledge of project management, continuous improvement methodologies and techniques, and public relations experience. /Preferred/: * Certification by the Project Management Institute. * At least two years previous supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
