Summary:

Join Facebook’s human resources organization, People@, on the People Planning and Portfolio team. Our group leads the development of our global HR strategy and carefully tracks the portfolio of initiatives and offerings that support achieving our strategic plan. We’re seeking a People Planning Systems and Insights Analyst to create and operate a sustainable ecosystem of portfolio data and strategic metrics.

This role will be responsible for data management and quality for the HR portfolio of strategic initiatives and offerings, data flows related to portfolio information, tracking key strategic metrics, as well as visualization and dashboarding. This role will support maintenance and development of our portfolio management application built on AppSheet, a low-code application development platform. Additionally, this role will closely integrate with partners across the people data ecosystem to support programmatic and ad hoc reporting related to key People@ programs. We are seeking someone who has critical thinking and analytical skills and is excited to be a part of building out and operationalizing our strategic planning and portfolio management capabilities for People@.

Required Skills:

  1. Understand complex data ecosystem and business context to develop relevant reporting as well as contextualized analysis and insights related to People@ strategy and planning process including obtaining a thorough understanding of our data sources and collection methods, and provide consultation and subject matter expertise on people planning data and systems

  2. Maintain and document data architecture related to People@ planning and portfolio management capabilities including tables related to project activities and associated attributes

  3. Maintain and build updates for People@ planning application (built on AppSheet, a low-code development platform) and ensure alignment with data architecture

  4. Develop and maintain basic automated data flows using SQL and Python between various information sources to supporting integration of planning data

  5. Build reports (generally using SQL) to support common People@ planning processes including status updates, resource demand and supply review, data quality audits, and other domains

  6. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau and other surfaces to support People@ planning and strategy development process, including identifying and tracking key metrics and performance indicators

  7. Utilize knowledge of Workday, BI Tools, relational databases, and Excel to build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics, in addition to monitoring the integrity and validity of the data reported

  8. Manage intake and provide ad hoc reporting for special People@ programs and targeted stakeholder needs (e.g., remote work, employee engagement) in close collaboration with key partners across the organization

  9. Support system reporting, audits, security administration, data loads, data warehouse reporting, and basic maintenance of tools like SharePoint and AppSheet

  10. Create detailed artifacts and materials to support portfolio management and planning workflows including data capture spreadsheets, instruction guides, and other materials

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years of experience and demonstrated expertise with Excel including creating pivot reports, conditional formulas and formatting, VLOOKUPs, and charts/graphs partnered with analytical and problem solving experience

  2. 3+ years of experience and demonstrated expertise working with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Cognos)

  3. 3+ years of experience and demonstrated expertise with SQL and/or Python (or similar language aimed at querying relational databases)

  4. Experience or willingness to learn AppSheet (low-code application development platform)

  5. Experience with data management, specifically with validating and auditing data and reports from multiple systems

  6. Demonstrated understanding and use of relational data and database systems

  7. Basic understanding of common human capital data attributes and uses

  8. Systems experience, database knowledge, and reporting experience

  9. Experience with data analysis, business analysis, communication and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS in a field that emphasizes data analysis and visualization (e.g., computer science, social sciences, physical sciences, math, engineering, or statistics), or equivalent work experience

  2. 4+ years of experience in compensation, finance, consulting, investment banking, or a similarly applicable field

  3. Experience manipulating large data sets through statistical software or other methods

  4. Experience with common portfolio management tools and willingness to learn configuration techniques for any new tooling

  5. Experience with basic statistical modeling, including use of R

  6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding environment

  7. Experience working with HR/organizational and project data preferred

  8. Experience to operate both tactically to complete tasks as well as strategically to evolve planning data capabilities
