Shellie's Country Cafe Prep Cook in Helena, Montana

A prep cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation in the restaurant. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables and measuring ingredients, and assisting with food preparation. This includes collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure that ingredients are prepared and organized for cooking.ResponsibilitiesPrepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and making special items.Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that ingredients are prepared and organized for cooking.Assist with food preparation, such as assembling sandwiches and salads, making gravies, oatmeal, and cooking side dishes.Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure that food is prepared to standard.Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.Restock ingredients and supplies as needed.Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and storage techniques.Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager and/or prep supervisor.SkillsAbility to follow recipes and cooking techniques.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as bags of ingredients and boxes of supplies.BenefitsFull time employees are eligible for health insurance benefits upon successful completion of probationary period.Full time prep cooks are included in a tip share upon successful completion of probationary period.Employee meals and discounts.Advanced wage payment with Toast Pay Card, making wages accessible before payday.Great family environment with local business owners.Flexible schedules.
