Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is a ground-up effort to build Infrastructure-as-a-Service that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant public cloud environment. We are specifically looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to join the Business Operations group in OCI Storage and Data Management Services (DMS) team to managing complex, cross-organizational programs that impact both product and business for OCI. In addition, this specific role requires a passion for solving high-impact problems and the ability to jump into any in-flight project and get it on the rails.

Our senior TPMs are required to define strategies for programs, identify technical impacts on the organization as they relate to business requirements, drive delivery, effectively communicate project status and suggest changes to use company resources more efficiently, regularly participate in executive meetings to present progress, and share project information with stakeholders. This is a senior level role, managing programs with visibility up to the Senior VP level of OCI.

As a Principal TPM, you will:

  • Drive critical cross-org programs within Storage and Data Management Services organization

  • Work across various service teams to scope, develop, identify success metrics and timelines for programs

  • Provide technical leadership, but not line management of cross-functional teams

  • Manage a portfolio of programs including operational improvements

  • Organize cross-org activities ensuring completion of projects on schedule and within budget constraints.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years leading complex technical / engineering programs, preferably in Cloud

  • 8+ years relevant work experience in program and project management

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology

  • Ability to effectively represent engineering perspectives to partner organizations, product teams, and executive leadership

  • Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering staff at all levels including the executive level

  • Solid analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business need with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence

  • Ability to mentor and develop junior TPMs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud services, virtualization, or SaaS products

  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills

  • Self-driven problem solver; able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous, and customer-focused environment

  • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) at different levels in the org
