State Auditor's Office Property/Casualty Compliance Specialist in Helena, Montana

The Office of the Montana State Auditor, Commissioner of Securities and Insurance is committed to serving the insurance and securities needs of Montanans with a focus on providing excellence in customer service. The successful candidate will work within our Policyholder Services (PHS) Bureau and be responsible for ensuring compliance with the provisions of Title 33, MCA and Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM) by insurance entities for insurance transactions in the state of Montana. Competencies: • investigate and analyze property and casualty insurance complaints; • determine merit of further investigation based on type of complaint, severity of allegation, impact on the individual and complaint history of agent or company; • evaluate policies, rules, laws and other factors to determine if a violation of law did occur; • compile and documents evidence of irregularities, improprieties and violations of civil and administrative codes; • determine if there is sufficient evidence to recommend action for administrative or criminal procedures; • testify on insurance practices, procedures and policies in administrative hearings; • engage in dispute resolution to settle consumer complaint/ mediate on behalf of consumer; • provide insurance information to consumers using knowledge of state and federal insurance laws, rules, regulations, procedures, case law and common business practice.
