_MISSION STATEMENT_

The Department of Revenue serves Montana by providing high quality services, ensuring equity and fairness, and constantly improving efficiency.

The Montana Department of Revenue administers approximately 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor laws, and unclaimed property for the State of Montana.

_DUTIES_

The Safety, Health & Emergency Management Coordinator performs a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include developing, implementing, and managing the department’s Safety and Health Program to reduce injuries and occupational illnesses by conducting effective safety training, threat assessment, and assuring that the department complies with all Federal and State safety laws and regulations. The incumbent manages the department’s Emergency Preparedness and Management Program, Worker’s Compensation, and Return to Work Programs. The incumbent implements the Response and Recovery phases of the Disaster/Emergency process by putting the preparedness plans into action and taking steps to return the department to normal standards of operation following a disaster/emergency. The incumbent also manages the facilities programs statewide. The position does not supervise other staff.

_EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE_

The above competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or closely related field and;

  • Two years of job-related work experience.

  • Preferred experience includes professional designations ASP, CSP, SMS, OHST, etc. or master’s degree in occupational safety and health.

Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis. It is important that all previous work experience is listed.
