As a School Nurse Assistant (LPN), you contribute to this mission by providing reliable direct care for a kindergarten aged child in a school setting. You will work as part of a team that serves 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:
Working part-time in the Functional Life Skills classroom, provide one on one care for assigned student. Current schedule is Monday – Friday, 10:30am to 3:30pm, but is subject to change during the school year.
Catheterization, tube feedings, administer medication, monitor after feedings to prevent aspiration.
Provide emotional and psychological support as needed.
Who we are looking for:
Graduate of a LPN program with a valid license as a practical nurse in good standing.
Prior experience working as a LPN, medical assistant, certified nursing assistant or similar role.
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and able to handle stress
Ability to regularly transition from sitting/standing, bend, stoop, twist and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an elementary setting and/or with providing pediatric patient care.
