State of Montana Security Systems Administrator in Helena, Montana

What is this career opportunity? This position will focus primarily on the administration of vulnerability management products with a smaller focus on next-generation anti-virus. The position is also responsible for setting up and maintaining a system or specific components of a system (e.g. for example, installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software; establishing and managing user accounts; overseeing or conducting backup and recovery tasks; implementing operational and technical security controls; and adhering to organizational security policies and procedures). What are we looking for? Education and Experience: * * A Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related field; AND * Applicable system security administration experience; OR * Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis *Preference will be given to candidates with additional certifications and/or experience: • CompTIA Security or equivalent certifications or experience preferred but not required. • Applicable security and/or system administration certifications a plus. • Experience with administration of Tenable.sc, Carbon Black, and/or SentinelOne a plus. Competencies: * /Knowledge of:/ * Cybersecurity and privacy principles; * Specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses; * Local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management; * Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standard; and * Principles and methods for integrating system components. /Ability to:/ * Troubleshoot complex technical security issues; * Apply an organization's goals and objectives to develop and maintain architecture; * Function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; and * Establish and maintain automated security control assessments. *Does this sound like you? * Please tell us how and why by submitting your resume, cover letter, and three professional business references.
