This position can be based in any J&J office within NA, APAC, LATAM or EMEA.

Job Description

The leader will be a part of the MedTech Supply Chain Digital & Business Transformation (DBT) organization and will be responsible for digital strategy and governance, digital competencies and workforce upskilling, technological innovation, digital reporting and value creation, continuous improvement, and digital process implementation.

The successful candidate must serve as a digital strategy leader who acts as a change agent while driving innovative digital transformations to best meet the evolving technology needs of MedTech Supply Chain.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Digital Strategy: Develop strategic initiatives that drive digital improvement across all MedTech Supply Chain. Assess business needs with MedTech Supply Chain stakeholder groups to understand areas of opportunity and define the value of digital improvement to drive business growth.

  • Digital Governance : Develop standards for the creation and use of digital tools, data, and common code within the portfolio, and establish and refresh governance around digital solutions. Lead the MD SC Digital Council including members from the Franchises, Functions and Enterprise SC Digital team to orchestrate MT SC Digital governance and the ideation process. Foster an innovative digital solutions pipeline and strategy roadmap in support of MT SC business priorities as part of the Digital Portfolio Management process.

  • Digital Competencies & Workforce Upskilling: Work with DBT Talent Leader to identify upskilling opportunities for the workforce to meet evolving business needs. Create business cases for highest priority digital learning needs to be delivered to relevant stakeholders.

  • Technological Innovation: Consistently assess the external landscape, understanding cutting-edge developments in digital technology and looking for ways to implement them into MedTech Supply Chain DBT initiatives. Build meaningful relationships with external vendors, academia, and other leaders in Digital Supply Chain Technology. Act as a thought leader on market-leading digital trends and recognize the potential business value of trends to the organization.

  • Digital Reporting & Value Creation: Collaborate with stakeholders across MedTech Supply Chain to determine meaningful value creation metrics for digital products. Define the metrics and tracking strategy based on stakeholder inputs to measure success meaningfully for each audience. Leverage existing products, technological innovations, and Supply Chain DBT’s digital portfolio to drive opportunities for value creation and cost savings throughout MedTech Supply Chain.

  • Continuous Digital Improvement: Partner with the Solutions Management and Continuous Improvement leader to assess the landscape of existing products and transformations to determine where digital enablement or improvement is possible to support value creation.

  • Digital Process Implementation: Lead and execute the implementation of refreshed digital processes as part of large-scale transformations within MedTech Supply Chain. Build a foundational understanding of digitally led processes within the Supply Chain DBT portfolio and accelerate the implementation of new processes for Supply Chain DBT. Work with Strategic Engagement Leader to implement new digital tools and capabilities.

  • Business Resource Management & External Partners: Ensure appropriate subject matter experts are engaged and dedicated to digital initiatives as needed. Partner closely with Strategic Planning and Program Operations, Data and Analytics, and Solutions Management and Continuous Improvement leaders to identify required resources and de-prioritize conflicts where they arise. Manage the relationship with external partners and SMEs relevant for digital initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree, such as an MBA, is preferred.

  • Requires a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in scientific, operations, and/or business leadership roles within Supply Chain, Commercial or large transformation or digital programs.

  • Requires a minimum of 7 years of complex global technology leadership experience.

  • Requires proven experience leading people centric technology initiatives.

  • A minimum of 10 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of digital enablement, technology planning processes, delivery methodologies, and tools is preferred.

  • Excellent at building strong relationships with peers and with other stakeholders to influence others and move toward a common vision.

  • Strong knowledge of MedTech Devices, Supply Chain or Commercial Operations is preferred.

  • Strong customer focus (internal & external) and experience managing professionals from multiple disciplines is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to collaborate effectively in managing large-scale projects in a matrix format.

  • Ability to work autonomously in scenarios with some ambiguity & handle multiple tasks is required.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across franchises, business sectors, and disciplines.

  • Ability to work effectively and drive alignment in a global environment through strong communication of complex concepts and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead cross functional teams, without authority, to drive outcomes.

  • Align teams to best practices and champion new innovative methodologies across digital trends, platforms, and standards.

  • Supply chain experience strongly preferred.

  • This position will require up to 25% travel.
