Guidehouse Senior Linux AWS Administrator in Helena, Montana

Dovel Technologies, a Guidehouse Company is looking for a Senior Linux AWS Administrator supporting a new program/customer initiatives. This is a Full time remote role that include,

  • AWS Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, or Terraform.

  • AWS services management, maintenance and optimization activities.

  • Linux troubleshooting, maintenance and optimization activities.

  • Puppet or Ansible-based Linux Systems administration.

  • Clustering and Cloud Technologies.

  • Security based approach to Infrastructure.

  • Backup and Recovery solution options native to AWS.

  • Performance Tuning and Optimization.

  • Monitoring with CloudWatch, Zabbix, Splunk.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Cloud development pipelines using Jenkins, Cloud Formation, Puppet and other tools as appropriate.

  • Support containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, other technologies.

  • Script and automate system tasks to reduce manual repetitive work using Terraform, Puppet and other technologies as appropriate.

  • Experience supporting Java applications on Tomcat.

  • Participate in production software deployments working closely with other members of the production support group to ensure the proper transition of system changes into the production environments.

  • Perform general technical trouble shooting and provide consultation to development teams.

  • Report issues to management and work to identify root cause of system related issues.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation including system diagrams and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of a degree, equivalent related work experience.

  • 7 years of experience as a Linux administrator.

  • 5 years of experience as a Linux administrator in AWS.

  • Extensive understanding of Linux Operating System.

  • Linux Red Hat; Linux Admin; Linux Server Hardening.

  • Experience supporting tools like Puppet, Rundeck, Jenkins,Jmanage.

  • Experience supporting Red Hat Linux (Version 7 and above).

  • Experience supporting Amazon Linux2.

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Unix/Linux server networks.

  • 5 years with Tomcat, Apache, and Java based applications.

  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix Linux systems and software.

  • Ability to conduct effective research into Unix Linux issues and products.

  • Ability to meet delivery deadlines.

  • Work independently or as part of a team and have strong communication skills.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

  • On call rotation.

Experience supporting the following technologies would be a bonus:

  • AWS: VPC's,EC2's,S3,EBS,Encryption,LandingZone,Lambda,Kinesis,ECS,Workspaces.

  • Bash, Python, scripting and automation.

  • AWS Database concepts.

  • Atlassian Products (Jira, Bitbucket ,Confluence).

The annual salary range for this position is $119,800.00-$179,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
