State of Montana Shared Use Path Pavement Preservation Intern in Helena, Montana
MDT Internship Program provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of problem solving, innovation and teamwork. Interns engage in Montana’s transportation projects that have a direct impact on Montana’s traveling public! Interns will collaborate with area experts and gain invaluable hands-on experience. Our internships focus on training and integrating the interns intoour current workforce of over 2,000 people across Montana who are all providing a vital role to ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely. This summer intern position will be responsible for capturing video with camera or drone of Montana's Bike and Pedestrian pathways to determine the condition of MDT’s 200 plus miles of shared use paths. Additionally, they will work to develop a pavement treatment plan, based on the conditions for the Shared use Paths. The intern will work out of the Maintenance Division at the Helena Headquarters Office. The Internwill be traveling around Montana for about 1.5 months capturing data and working in the office developing a pavement preservation plan for the rest of the duration of the internship. Acceptable majors are: Engineering Degrees or a closely related fields of study. Other degrees may be considered on a case by case basis Only electronic applications will be accepted. Student must be currently enrolled in College, University or Tech School and at least have completed at least 60 credit hours. If applicant is enrolled in a Tech School (2 year program) the credit minimum is 30 credit hours. Applicants that are with in six months of their graduation may be considered.
