What is this career opportunity? * The State of Montana is looking for a Software Development Supervisor to join our State Information Technology Services Division team to support our mission to modernize state government. The successful incumbent will have 7 direct reports and oversee the professional staff responsible for the development of custom applications following our software factory development process. The supervisor is required to follow and ensure the team follows all SITSD processes, procedures, policies, and laws including those relating to development processes, customer service, change management, budgeting, billing, and security. In addition, the supervisor is responsible for performing common supervisory functions such as: hiring, performance management, goal setting, task assignments, and providing the overall vision for the section. *What are we looking for?__ Education and Experience: // · A Bachelor’s degree with coursework emphasis on programming and software development; AND · Experience in Object Oriented Languages (Java preferred) standard Interactive Development Environments (IDE’s) such as Eclipse, systems architecture, API’s and Web services, knowledge in using server scripting languages such as PERL, Python, or PowerShell; AND · Demonstrated success managing IT professionals in a project driven environment. · Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
