Intel Software Enabling and Optimization Manager in Helena, Montana

Job Description

The leader in this role will report into the Director of the ISV Game Engineering organization and manage a cross-functional team of application engineers, and quality assurance specialists. The ISV Game Engineering team is responsible for leading our co-engineering efforts with Intel's worldwide PC gaming software partners, ensuring the top worldwide games are fully optimized for Intel's graphics, CPUs, and AI accelerators. A successful leader in this role will have a passion for games, a strong executional and data-driven mindset, as well as a good understanding for game technical trends.

Responsibility and Scope:

  • Proactively own and drive the resolution of game performance and functional issues with ISVs and internal partners.

  • Ensure upcoming top games "just work" out-of-the-box and are optimized for Intel platforms on the day of their release.

  • Engage and partner with ISVs on implementing key differentiating features showcasing Intel platforms.

  • Identify future game trends and workloads that help drive future Intel platforms and products.

  • Act as the voice of the developer, providing data-driven insights and feedback on Intel products, software development kits, APIs, and services.

  • Identify opportunities and initiate joint path-finding efforts with ISVs to develop features that establish and sustain Intel platform leadership.


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years of experience in a technical role. Or, Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 4+ years of experience in a technical role.

  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of software engineers in one or more of the areas below:

  • Demonstrable technical expertise in two or more of the following areas:

  • Game development

  • Low-level CPU software development

  • Real-time graphics

  • Developer tools, particularly those used for performance tuning and/or debugging

  • Memory subsystems, caches, etc.

Behavioral traits that we are looking for:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Performance-oriented software development

Working Model

This role is available as a fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need. This role may also be available as our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
