Workplace's mission is to revolutionize the way people connect, communicate and collaborate at work, by bringing the powerful tools we have built over the last decade into the workplace. As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with the Sales and Partnerships teams, pitching Workplace to new potential clients, and solving technical challenges for existing customers. You will use your deep understanding of the system and the needs of clients, working with the Product and Engineering teams to improve the overall product experience. You will also drive various initiatives to scale Workplace and make it easier to adopt. For example, by developing documentation and representing Facebook at industry events and conferences. The ideal candidate will combine technical, product and business skills to make our partners successful and improve the Workplace product.

Required Skills:

  1. Deeply understand the Workplace system architecture and integration components.

  2. Engage with potential customers and key internal/external contacts to understand their business objectives and demonstrate the value proposition of Workplace.

  3. Deliver customized pre-sales technical presentation and product demonstrations to customers while demonstrating well developed understanding of industry, partners and competitive landscape.

  4. Assist in the development of RFP responses and drive to close new opportunities.

  5. Identify key system architecture components, propose and help clients build solutions that unblock deployments.

  6. Create documentation and develop best practices to help customers get the most out of using the systems.

  7. Works on projects that are broad in nature, usually requiring discretion, judgment and creativity while demonstrating strong understanding of relevant project/product and technology areas.

  8. Contributes to projects and initiatives run across immediate cross-functional teams, by providing feedback to engineers, product, and partners.

  9. Works to resolve complex escalated client/partner issues and examines problems from different perspectives to spot new solutions.

  10. Subject matter expert in a product area, able to teach in an area of specialization and has an established point of view through regular self-education and discovery.

  11. Identifies knowledge gaps within the organization and applies effective methods to close these gaps.

  12. Understands product and delivery mechanisms that power these solutions, requiring little guidance.

  13. Identifies and surfaces insights on product usage and technical analysis to increase product adoption and help drive business value.

  14. Delivers high-quality project/integration/partner engagement work with little direction after scoping and able to gain consensus from stakeholders while driving to solutions.

  15. Contributes to the development of high-quality documentation, tools, concepts and processes related to a particular field of specialization while devising solutions and solving common problems.

  16. Builds and owns technical aspects of the relationship with client/partner technical teams and solves important challenges with minimal oversight. Collaborates with them in developing a strategic plan grounded on business objectives.

  17. Actively involved in interviewing and helps with on-boarding/mentoring of coworkers, for a given area of expertise, while creating a positive atmosphere amongst the team and beyond.

  18. Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% of time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years experience as a solution architect, software engineer, technical consultant, partner/sales/solutions engineer

  2. Experience communicating to technical and business audiences

  3. Knowledge of the enterprise software space

  4. Experience working with cloud identity providers and collaboration tools

  5. Knowledge of the web technology stack (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, RESTful APIs)

  6. Experience with security protocols (SAML, Kerberos, etc.) and enterprise user management systems (e.g. Active Directory)
